Change Management: Reliable Performance in a Changing Environment

Because it's so critical for your business applications to run reliably, we've developed a change management system that combines policies and procedures with an online change management system called iChange. iChange is a key component of USiOasis, our operational support system.

Our change management process allows your changes to proceed quickly and expertly without damage or instability. When we alter your system's configuration, each change request must be approved and documented to protect you and your clients. Using our tested methods and techniques, we avoid new errors and minimize disruptions. On average, USi manages 900 changes per month, with an overall 99.99% success rate.

Four Stages of Change

USi believes strongly that any change activity, large or small, must go through at least four basic stages:

  • Planning: When the need for a change is identified, the change is planned, engineered, scheduled, coordinated, and entered into the iChange system.
  • Approval: Subject matter experts review the change request, refine it as needed, and approve or reject it.
  • Execution: After approval comes the implementation phase, during which the change is executed and its success verified.
  • Closing: In the final stage, the outcome of the change is recorded so that changes can be traced over time.

High-risk changes, which affect multiple clients or USi infrastructure components, go through an additional level of review, approval, and coordination.
